Background

Powered by Carnegie Museum of Natural History, the Bone Hunters uses projection mapping, tracking, and tangible interaction to turn fossil excavation into a dynamic, hands-on experience that sparks curiosity and deepens children’s understanding of paleontology.

Recognition

The Bone Hunter has been awarded the 2025 Gold Muse Design Award in the Experiential & Immersive – Exhibition Experience category. Established by the International Awards Associate (IAA) in 2015, the Muse Design Award recognizes projects that challenge conventions and redefine the boundaries of immersive storytelling.

The project was also honored at the 2025 Indigo Design Awards, receiving Gold in UX, Interface & Navigation and Silver in Interactive Design. The Indigo Design Award celebrates exceptional digital design across disciplines, acknowledging work that blends innovation, functionality, and compelling user experience.
